One of the most important collections from the south of Croatia is the collection at the St. Nicholas Church in Cavtat which dates back to 1952. It came to be thanks to the efforts of an academician – Cvito Fisković.
This valuable collection of paintings, sculptures and liturgical pottery, is located in an area close to the parish center, and is open to tourists and locals alike. Among many valuable works of art, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the icon depicting St. Nicholas from the 15th century, the alabaster relief of St. Sebastian from the same century by a baroque artist from Benedetto Genarri’s school from Bologna, the paintings by a Sicilian painter, Carmelo Reggion, and the works of a great Croatian painter – Vlaho Bukovac.
