Sakarun, one of the most famous beaches of the Zadar county, is situated on the north-west coast of Dugi otok (Croatian for Long Island). Small places like Veli rat, Verunić, Soline and Božava gently touch the beach rendering it a distinguishing charm of a typical Dalmatian ambience. Its reputation is being reinforced lately since more and more people come visit this place each year to enjoy white sandy beach and crystal clean sea in a setting of a very welcomed shade coming from a pine forest. The beach is 800m long and a depth of only 3,5m at 250m away from the coast makes it an ideal place for families with small children. Nautical tourism is becoming increasingly popular here in the Sakarun bay, also providing its visitors buoys in the anchorage area. Find out why Dugi otok is so proud of the Sakarun beach…
