Vepric is a sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes near Makarska, founded in 1908 by the bishop of Split-Makarska Archdiocese, Juraj Carić, who is also buried on the premises of the sanctuary, according to his will.
Natural cave and the entire scenery with small hills, lush vegetation and a stream that passes through all this beauty irresistibly remind of Lourdes where the Blessed Virgin Mary has in 1858 appeared 18 times to Bernadette Soubirous.
The sanctuary consists of a chapel with a sacristy, an altar, confessionals, ways of the cross and processional paths. A new home for spiritual practices of the sanctuary was also built. Due to the natural beauty and a specific serenity endowed by this place, this sanctuary lures visitors throughout the whole year, and the main pilgrimage dates are 11 February, 25 March, 15 August, 7 and 8 September, when numerous of the faithful and pilgrimages through a prayer reinforce their faith and spirit, letting the will to better and healthier life guide their further endeavours.
