The summer has left the stage long ago, and the rainy fall is also coming to an end. After light summer clothing, rubber boots and raincoats, it’s time to take out your coats, hats and soft cashmere sweaters.
Accordingly, there’s a difference in the choice of makeup – summer makeup look is characterized by a bronzer and shimmer, while in winter, we can go for dark and rich tones.
But the protagonist of this winter story is perfume. You see, we should think of perfumes like we do about clothes – light and fresh, barely detectable
fragrances in summer, and intense fragrances in winter. There are also other factors that play an important role in choosing the right perfume, such as intensity, longevity and application. Those among us who have a keen sense of smell will consider choosing the wrong perfume a serious problem. In order to prevent it from happening, you should organize your fragrances by season.
.
Each and every one of us has their own favorite scent, and if you’re not financially restricted, you can go ahead and expand your season specific collection with another perfume, like you do with your wardrobe. As the colder months approach, we add more and more layers of clothing which can subdue strong fragrances on your skin. Since almost all fragrances come in two types – Eau de toilette and Eau de parfum – go for the second one because it’s more concentrated and intense, and your coat will not interfere with its diffusion. If you want you fragrance to last longer, apply it to specific spots on your body, like your neck and wrist, where the skin is warm and helps it expand.
In the end, your own personal preference will prevail in the choice of the right perfume but certain tones like musk, amber, spices, tree, moss, vanilla, caramel, and chocolate create a sense of warmth and coziness. My favorite winter fragrance is definitely the legendary Chanel No. 5 which has been on the market since 1921, and is the most profitable fragrance there is. Seeing how all of us have different taste, I asked my colleagues, both men and women, what their favorite perfume was. Women listed instantly, just like I did, well-known designer fragrances such as Cinema by Yves Saint Laurent, Pure Poison by Dior and La petite Noir by Guerlain, while men opted for Burberry Brit for Men, Just Cavalli Blue and last but not least, La Nuit de l’Homme by Yves Saint Laurent.
No matter which fragrance you choose, it will without a doubt have a positive effect on your mood and self-esteem. So before you leave the house, make sure you don’t forget to put a few drops of your favorite fragrance.
