Professor Dragan Primorac, Ph.D., and Jure Brekalo, a poet, businessman and the president of Terracon d. d. have given a donation check for a 1-year apartment lease to Mr Alenko Barać, a discharged Homeland War veteran who has been living in the apartment for three years.
Over the last three years Cro Unum Charitable Society, with Mr Dragan Primorac as the president, has ensured donations necessary for life of Mr Alenko Barać. He was a member of 142nd Brigade, Drniš, spent the entire war on the battlefield to ended up living in harsh, inhuman conditions. During all these years the institutions haven’t been able to solve his housing problem. Curiously enough, Alenko Barać become famous for one unusual deed, namely, despite his poverty and desperate situation he did a selfless act and returned a substantial amount of money he had found. The same year he was honored for this act and received an award at the Pride of Croatia Awards.
Though accustomed to the media’s attention, Alenko thanked everyone who helped him, Dragan Primorac and Jure Brekalo in particular. On this occasion he briefly recollected the time he spent in war emphasizing that doing good deeds is the most sacred thing a person can do, like these people, his benefactors, are doing. Finally, he wished everyone good health and happiness and also expressed the hope that there’ll be many more such benefactors in Croatia.
