Žedno – new tourist attraction?

By Žedno (Own work) [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons

Žedno is a village in the inland of the island of Čiovo, and as some kind of an image from a fairy tale, it is situated on a hill.
It is home to the St. Maurus Church from the 4th century where eremites use to gather, and the Church of the Blessed John of Trogir right in the center of the settlement. Žedno has road connection to the neighboring places and the town of Trogir.

The locals are not only excellent fishermen but are also actively involved in tourism development, trying to affirm their place on the tourist map of Trogir and Dalmatia. Moreover, the village has no school but it is worth mentioning that in 2008, a kindergarten called ”Sun” opened, the first kindergarten functioning according to the pedagogical standards in that area, which is commendable.
