Women are introduced to shoes from an early age, actually right around the time they hear of Cinderella and her case of the little glass slipper that brought her to Prince Charming. And even in this day and age, girls, women for that matter, wouldn’t mind trying Cinderella’s slippers on. Wouldn’t you agree?
Believe me when I say, there’s always room in the closet for another pair of shoes. And the answer is yes, I’m a woman. I can’t help it if during one of my visits to the mall, it just so happens I can’t take my eyes off a pair of amazing shoes. And so what if I have, say, ten pairs of similar shoes at home all covered in dust, and two or three that never saw the light of day?
So what’s the reasoning behind this shoe obsession? Could it be that women see shoes as their faithful companions? No matter if the scale goes up or down, shoes will still fit just right. And if you happen to have an extra pound or two (or three), shoes won’t turn their back on you.
They really have a lot to offer. For instance, by choosing a particular pair of shoes, the same outfit can send a completely different message. Black stilettos will help you look more professional whereas on your night out, make sure you have your blinged out high heels on, and all eyes will be on you, no doubt about it.
This may come as a surprise but men used to share our high heel obsession. In all those movies about the French aristocracy, men were the ones wearing makeup, wigs and wait for it… high heels! Women have simply picked up their fashion trends.
Rumor has it that every woman is a proud owner of at least thirty pairs of shoes. Granted, some of them have never been worn, most of them only once, while the comfiest ones are always on. Recent studies have shown a startling revelation, although I think most women are familiar with this. You see, even though women’s shoe closet is home to that one pair which is the cause of numerous blisters, there’s no giving up on it! Why? The answer is easy. The shoes look great, and so a little suffering in order to look good isn’t such a bad thing, right?
So, we’ve established women love shoes, especially high heels because they elongate our legs and make us look more beautiful, and of course, slimmer. My advice is, put your favorite shoes on – you’ll feel like you have the world at your feet.
