Petra Mimica:
First of all, I would like to point out that Viola wine boutique shop is situated in the very centre of Split and its main goal is to preserve the reputation of Croatian wines. For this reason we use every chance possible to introduce to, present and bring closer Croatian top-quality wines, both nationally and internationally recognized wineries and excellent wine makers as well. Some of the activities Viola is engaged in are wine tours and wine evenings that encompass not only wine tasting, but musical and literary performances and art exhibition (vernissage) as well. Viola also hosts numerous Croatian celebrities who play a significant role in a promotion of our wines, striving to give our own contribution to the preservation of indigenous Croatian wine features.

Interviewer:
I suppose you have certain plans and goals you wish to accomplish in the future?

Petra Mimica:
Naturally. We would like to turn the world to us, i.e. to introduce others, even outside our national boarder, to Croatian long history of viticulture, characterized by a variety of indigenous wine sorts, more than 180 of them. In these terms Croatia is one of the few countries that may contribute considerably to the world wine assortment. We actually want to function as a link between a wine maker and the world (consumers) and while doing so, we would like to stress the enormous wine potential Croatia has when considering natural predispositions it is endowed with. Hopefully, this will come true eventually. We need to note how we have already paved our way to Ireland’s and German wine market and hope to do the same with Chinese wine market in the near future. Also, our future plans include a production of our own champagne that would be entirely launched into Chinese wine market.

Interviewer:
In conclusion, what would be your message to all wine lovers?

Petra Mimica:
I would primarily like to emphasize that our team consists of 3 members (oenologist, agroecologist and nutricionist). Everything indicates a bright future awaits us, and not only us but our friends, Croatian wine lovers and wine makers. Finally, in the name of our whole team I would like to say we are truly happy to be a part of all this, this story, this vision and a process.
