Ubli on Lastovo

   by  yachtrent

Ubli or Uble is a settlement located on the southwest part of the Island of Lastovo, or to be more accurate, it represents its port, an important maritime transport location.
Moreover, Ubli is home to a single-nave St. Peter’s Basilica (5th ct.). Among numerous findings kept there, an early Christian relief portraying a cross and two lambs is worth mentioning. The original is stored in the Archaeological Museum in Zadar. When the archaeological research came to a close, the Basilica was preserved and classified as a monument of the highest category of protection.

The Ubli settlement has its own Pionir /Pioneer/ Beach made of concrete slabs with a natural shade, which is full of beachgoers – both locals and tourists. It’s also a perfect place for children and elderly.
This small but nice place in the south of Croatia has been a popular spot among tourists, like many other places, thanks to its welcoming nature, visible not only in the tourist season but also throughout the year, and of course, its interesting history and beauty.
