TRILJ REGIONAL MUSEUM
The Regional Museum of Trilj collects, explores, preserves and documents cultural heritage from the Trilj area presented through archaeological, ethnographic, cultural, historical and numismatic collection. Archaeological collection is classified in the chronological order into departments Prehistory, Classical period, Medieval period
ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE AND A FORTRESS NUTJAK
The Nutjak fortress is around 3 km downstream of Trilj, raised on a cliff beneath the right bank of the Cetina river at the end of the 15th century. The main entrance into this fortress is situated on the western rampart that is partially preserved, 7m long and 4m high. Inside the fortress is a small yard, several objects and a venue of yet unspecified purpose.
The whole area is dominated by a large round tower with walls of partially treated stone blocks assembled by plastering with two face walls and a filling from smaller rocks and plaster. South from the fortress lie terraces with remains of other objects, while an access road in is in the north-west.

Protected immovable cultural heritage
The fortress is built on a hill south-east from Trilj as a monitoring place for one of the most important communication paths leading through the hinterland of Dalmatia ever since prehistory. The fortress comprises two towers connected with a long yard. Eastern tower is larger and better preserved, with irregular round ground-plan on the outside and octagonal-shaped inner part containing a preserved well. The western tower is smaller and not that good preserved. Archaeological evidence date from the late Ancient times to the beginning of the 18th century, with an emphasis on the late Medieval Period. Below the fortress lies an old parish church with a bell tower on its front, built in the 18th century.
