Picturesque Pirovac

Pirovac is a picturesque and very nice place with interesting historical monuments that along with Primošten, Vodice and Murter present one of the most significant tourist centres of the Šibenik riviera. The first records of Pirovac date in the y. 1298 under name “Zlosela” when it was a small settlement that consisted of 7 houses with 68 people only and was under the jurisdiction of the Bribir aristocratic family Šubić. Later it came into the possession of the Šibenik diocese and the Šibenik aristocracy. However, the settlement was officially recognized in the 15th century, while the remains of historical monuments witness about the development history of the Pirovac settlement. Whoever once visits Pirovac will surely return, since its beauty, mild climate, indented coast, numerous bays, sandy beeches, diverse plants, pine woods and centuries-old olive-groves combined with clean and warm sea, miraculous sunsets, captivating beauty of coastal area in general – become and remain special pleasures to be experiences, the ones that you’ll always gladly remember. Additional tourist attraction is a small island Sustipanac, situated just before Pirovac, a place where the sun and the beauty of nature will immediately attract guests. Closely by, in the Makirina bay, a medicinal peloid mud spring has been discovered also. Another reason why Pirovac is so interesting to visitors lies in the fact that in its immediate vicinity are two national parks – “Kornati” and “Krka” and 5 kilometres of the Vransko Lake Natural Park, excellent for sports fishing in particular. More than enough reasons to visit Pirovac!
