A visit to the third largest city in Japan exceeded our expectations – it was as if we suddenly found ourselves in one of those sci-fi movies where the future looked nothing like we imagined.
Although the port is located far away from the city, and people in most cities spend a lot of free time commuting, that’s not the case with Osaka thanks to the extensive network of high speed trains. For example, it takes approximately 25 minutes to cover a distance of 100 kilometres which is unimaginable back home. (Can you picture how great it’d be if a train ride from Split to Zagreb took only an hour?!).
Moreover, it was kind of strange not to hear anyone fighting or yelling on the train, but then again, nobody was talking either – they were all busy reading or playing video games. Even though Japan is ”addicted” to video games and technology, it was still funny to see old ladies enjoying the same pastime.
The City is very clean, no sight of graffiti on the streets (as opposed to our ”most beautiful city in the world”).
