Many would say that a small fishing settlement called Maslinica has the most beautiful sunset at the Adriatic coast. It is situated at the west side of Šolta island that comprises 7 attractive islets of interesting names and even more captivating beauty: Polebrnjak, Saskinja, Stipanska, Kamik, Balkun, Šarac and Grmej. All those who have once visited Šolta would agree that enchanting Maslinica belongs to one of the most beautiful areas at the Adriatic coast. Over the last several years this small fishing settlement has given way to tourism and different tourist activities which include nautical tourism, biking and a wealthy gastronomy. It is interesting to mention how Maslinica emerged from a former castle of the Marchi family (1703) that used to be defense of frequent pirate attacks. This castle has been converted to a local hotel. Clean, stunning beaches and almost surreal sea bed lure diving and sport fishing lovers adding more reasons why you should visit this small place on Šolta.
