Male klapa “Serpentina” formed at the Faculty of Economics in Split, with Branimir Vukorepa as their director. The klapa regularly participates in various events related to their faculty like diploma celebrations. They are also engaged in different artistic activities outside their faculty. Namely, they make their own records and take part in various concerts and festivals in Split and nearby.
Their work aims to nurture traditional a capella singing, but their work also comprises vocal instrumental compositions advocating mainly love, spiritual and patriotic themes. Precisely with the composition “Peace in Soul” (Mir u duši) they made their first appearance at Papa Fest in Solin. Their desire is to continue to foster their own musical expression so they are always open to cooperation with other similar performers.
The klapa was established in 2006, and since then several members of the original group altered, so for two and a half years now it exists as a seven-member singing group. The klapa always emphasizes how their love for traditional songs and kapa singing brought them together and how they are very happy to meet their colleagues and people with resembling interests and aspirations. Hopefully, there’ll be many opportunities where they will be able to represent to the wider public their authentic work as well.
