Grandeur of Pirovac Bay

Nice and attractive, tourist town Pirovac has always been turned to its biggest natural value – Pirovac Bay. This bay is a true phenomenon, some 10 kilometres cut into stone, imbued with delightful and aromatic Mediterranean plants that mix with the iconic sea fragrance and favourable tides make this sea 3-4°C warmer than the average summer water temperature of the Adriatic Sea in that time of the year.
Pirovac Bay has numerous astonishing bays and beaches and it would take too long time to describe them all. Still, some of them are “must-see” destinations. Lolić beach is the main beach and a holder of the international Blue Flag award for several times. This pebble beach also has a walking zone and traffic is restriction all year long, which is particularly suitable for families with small children. Also, it is adapted to people with special needs. It is equipped with showers, changing cabins, modern toilets and additional facilities like catering, sport facilities and beach equipment. Other interesting beaches are Starine and Miran Hotel Beach. If you wish to enjoy secluded bays, set out several kilometres away to the Prosika cove or rent a boat and head for the island of love – Sustipanac. Southern end of the Pirovac Bay Makirina is a natural bathing spot with therapeutic peloid. In terms of its composition, quality and quantity this is the top destination for therapeutic mud in Croatia. Its medicinal properties are expected to pave way for a real tourist boom. It is a peloid mud site with the area of 414 800 m³. Pirovac is also special for having two national parks in immediate vicinity – Krka and Kornati National Park, and it’s only 5 kilometres away from the Vrana Lake Nature Park (“Vransko Jezero”). On the top of all, Pirovac Bay also contains a small island of St Stephen (“Sv. Stjepan”) called Sustipanac, that preserves remains of the ancient monastery. Only if you visit this place, could you really experience all its grandeur.
