Female klapa Kurjože – the pearl of Podstrana

Female klapa Kurjože comes from Podstrana near Split. Their friendship and love for klapa music started to show its first contours in September 2006. The klapa consists of 9 members and these are: Ana Dragošević, Anamarija Mikas, Sandra Utrobičić, Andrijana Gilić, Emilija Markulin, Jasminka Batinić, Marijana Radoš, Ana Bartulović and Antonija Visković, with the professor Mirko Radan as their manager. The klapa excelled at numerous renown festivals including charity concerts and guest appearances.

At the end of 2011 they won the golden plaque on the first competition of the Festival of Contemporary Choral Music in Zagreb. The same year they also won the golden plaque at Školjka (Shell) Klapa Festival in Pakoštane. At the end of July in 2011 the klapa was awarded the first prize by the judges’ choice at International Festival of Klapa Perast – Montenegro.
Moreover, in 2012 they were rewarded a special prize of Municipality Podstrana for their contribution to the culture. In June 2013 they made their debut in the sixth International Competition of Chamber Ensembles “Sounds of June” in Petrinja and were the absolute winners, since the klapa received the golden plaque and achieved the largest score in their category, and also won Grand Prix award. At the 48th Festival of Dalmatian klapas Omiš in 2014 they won the 3rd prize by the audience’ choice, a bronze lute.
