The period of merrymaking and feasting in disguise has crept up on us. The ”power” was given over to individuals in different costumes who will take up the reins until Shrove Tuesday when the final masked festivity will take place. On that day the main culprit will burn because of all the troubles caused in our everyday lives.
The Carnival in Split, or as the locals call it, ”Spli’ski Krnjeval”, has a long-standing tradition thanks to its awesome group and individual costumes which will take part in the best costume contest in the period from 7th to 17th February 2015 on Riva, going by the name of ”Carnival City” or ”Krnjevalski grad”.
A 10-day program will feature performances by bands, mandolin orchestras, poetry and jazz nights, parties, kids’ carnival and other fun activities. Since the carnival time coincides with the Valentine’s Day, this year there’ll be no shortage of love and dance themes.
So come on and join the Spli’ski Krnjeval, dance, and have fun being someone else.
