Maslenica is a particularly pleasant place to visit with your family in tow. Why? Because of its beautiful landscape, embraced by the Novigrad Sea, Zrmanja River and Velebit Mountain. You’ll get the chance to witness the impressive Maslenica Bridge that connects the continental Croatia to Dalmatia, and to enjoy the Zrmanja River, the ‘beauty’ of Velebit which enters the Novigrad Sea near Maslenica.
The Maslenica Bridge which goes by another, more recognised name – ”the Old Maslenica Bridge” – so that it can be set apart from its new concrete sibling on the A1 motorway, is a steel arch bridge over Novsko ždrilo on the Adriatic highway, not far from Maslenica. The Maslenica Bridge often serves as an alternative to the new concrete four lane bridge during the rule of the bora wind.
In order to enhance the quality of tourism-related services, the Maslenice Bridge, as of late, offers bungee jumping. It’s also the highest bungee jumping spot in Croatia. The brave amongst us who happen to find themselves standing on the metal construction in the middle of the Bridge will have to face the height of 56 metres with 30 to 35 metres of free fall, and a distance from the sea of approximately 4 metres at the lowest point of the jump. So more and more tourists, especially adrenaline junkies, visit Maslenica to take a dive and record that moment in time in beautiful Dalmatia.
