Bratuš – the story of stone houses

Bratuš is a very nice and interesting coastal settlement situated in the Makarska region that belongs to the Baška Voda municipality. The origins of this settlement date back in the 18th century when several fisherman families from Podgora inhabited this area. Central part of Bratuš is characterised with ancient stone houses, among which is situated a small square called Kačićevi dvori (the Kačić court). Recently, the settlement has been enriched with many weekend houses and resting-places. Above Bratuš one can find prehistoric archaeological site Gradina dominated by a central rock and a few smaller ones around. As in many coastal areas, tourism is a main economic branch to which surely contributes great solar insolation over year, along with beautiful beaches.

While the sea relentlessly adorns white pebble beech of Bratuš, Dalmatian stone houses tell the stories on the life of fishermen and peasants. Carried by the mistral wind as if in a free fall, seagulls rejoice inviting us to relax. Bratuš is an ideal place to hide and find your peace, it is one of few places one can easily fall in love with not wondering why, maybe because of its magic… Come, rest your soul and capture pleasure Bratuš offers.
